Stud Services at Pipers Stud
Here at Pipers Stud we are pleased to
be able to offer you a great range of stud services from artificial
insemination to foaling and weaning. Please read more about
this below and contact us if you require anymore information.
Artificial Insemination
The technique of artificial insemination using
Frozen semen in Great Britain and Ireland is rapidly becoming the
principal method for breeding performance horses. AI is often
preferred to a natural service for non thoroughbred mares because
there is less chance of disease and it also offers a much wider
choice of stallion.
We have stores by Double Trigger, Unbelievable Darco,
Rovoris and Infantry. Our own mares are in foal to stallions such
as Nederland and Unbelievable Darco.
Here at Pipers Stud we offer you the choice of
Fresh, Chilled or Frozen semen to suit your mares needs and great
facilities such as 24 hour supervision and monitoring via CCTV is
available.
Our veterinary surgeon in charge of the breeding
program at Pipers Stud is John Hennessey MVBMRCVS, he can be

Foaling and Weaning
Pipers Stud offers a complete service for the owner who would
rather delegate the business of foaling and weaning your young
stock. We provide a safe environment for your mares to foal;
which include huge foaling boxes, 24 hour supervision via CCTV
cameras and regular checks, expert veterinary services to hand and
turnout during the day (weather permitting) in our safe paddocks.
If possible we would like a mare to arrive at Pipers Stud 3 weeks
prior to her foaling date, giving her plenty of time to settle and
acclimatise to her new surroundings. Once foaled the mare and
foal can return home or stay at Pipers Stud where both shall be
cared for and the foal educated through to weaning..
If you choose to take your mare and foal home, both or just one can return to Pipers Stud and we will happily take
care of the weaning stage. All foals sent to Pipers Stud will be fed to help them
grow and mature well and returned to you halter broken and happy to
be handled.

Terms and Conditions and Declaration of Health to be completed and
signed prior to admission
